I wanted to extend the possibility of the baroque instrument 'viola d'amore':
in addition to its main six strings, it has an equal number located below them and the fingerboard which are not directly played, but vibrate in sympathy with the notes played on the main strings.
I wanted the sympathetic strings to sound much more stronger, like if the whole world drowned in the reverberation caused by these six lower strings.
I structured the piece as I approached the instrument:
I was in a forest recording sounds and from above a rock I heard a strange sound. It was similar to a viola, but it wasn't quite that. An Ukrainian man was practicing with this strange instrument. He was really happy when I asked what that was, so he started illustrating me all of its characteristics. After a brief silence he then proceeded to play a folk tune from his home town, written by his grandfather, and allowed me to fully record it.
